TalentLMS celebrates its 10th birthday
“After several months of Beta testing and refining, TalentLMS has been officially released today,” read a blog post from October 5th, 2012, written by Epignosis’s CEO (and then-CTO), Thanos Papangelis.
The announcement signaled the birth of TalentLMS. Following the company’s mission to democratize learning, the product was created based on two core values: simplicity and affordability.
Fast forward 10 years later, TalentLMS celebrated its first decade of training success on October 5, 2022. Celebrations peaked with a hybrid birthday party, attended by 80 team members at the Epignosis headquarters and around 100 who joined remotely. The event was kicked off by Thanos Papangelis who presented some product and team milestones over the years.
The presentation started off with the first email exchanged in 2001 between the soon-to-become co-founders, Thanos Papangelis and Dimitris Tsingos. Epignosis’s CEO then touched on some of the most important moments through the years, including the birth of the TalentLMS business idea during a conference in Las Vegas in 2011, the number of customers surpassing 1,000 for the first time in 2016, the launch of TalentLibrary, and the transition to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“TalentLMS has grown beyond our wildest dream to a solution used by thousands of customers and millions of employees,” told Epignosis’s CEO. “As we turn 10, we are more determined than ever to bring quality solutions so organizations of any size and budget can achieve their potential through better training,” he added.
Today, over 11,000 organizations around the world trust TalentLMS to train their employees, partners, and customers. More than 20 million learners are actively using TalentLMS, and more than six million courses have been completed on the platform.
“During the last few months, analysts around the world talk about economic challenges. Our founding values, simplicity, affordability and, thus, accessibility for all will keep being the compass to show us the right way forward, no matter how turbulent the environment might get,” Epignosis’s President, Dimitris Tsingos, said during the event.
